Fun, friendly, welcoming cricket for all girls!
It’s all about friendship
The best thing about cricket is the friendships made. Our club is renowned as welcoming all girls and women.
Getting to us is easy
Getting to our home at Ryder Oval is super easy. Get to us on safe bike paths; walk, catch a No.19 or 55 tram, or a train to Jewell Station, or drive a car. If you still have trouble let us know and we’ll help find a solution.
We’re flexible
We’ll help you find the way to get involved that suits you the best. Come once to have a go or stay for the whole season. You’re always welcome.
Safe and free to be yourself
We won’t take you beyond where you want to be. You’ll be safe as you learn. It’s fun!
We play in one of the most beautiful places in Melbourne
We play in Royal Park, one of the most beautiful natural environments in the whole of Melbourne, surrounded by cool gum trees, native birds and native plants and flowers.
We provide all your equipment
We have a unique program where we loan all equipment (and a bag to carry it all) for all female players. It’s free. Small fees are paid for competition matches, and many free activities for girls wanting to have a go.
How do I let you know I’m interested and find out more?

Twinkle, 11 yrs
It’s so just fun to know people are helping me be my best. I like the way it’s ok if you don’t do the greatest. My team always include and encourage me – no matter what.
I remember when I was bowling my first over in a game and I was really nervous. One of my team said: “You’ve got this Twinkle” – I felt so powerful. And I got a wicket!
I wasn’t expecting people to be such good sports, even when they lose. They’re always just happy to play. When people see you in your YPCC shirt they’ll always say “hi ya”. It makes me feel part of the community.
Emily, 8 yrs
We play in a big space and it makes me feel happy. It’s so good to be outside and not stuck at home.
At first I wasn’t sure I really wanted to do it. But I’ve made new friends. And I improved really quickly, and my team-mates encouraged me. I used to worry about missing a shot – but now I know it’s not a big deal. There’s always the next one!
When my friends ask me what playing cricket feels like, I say: “it’s exhilarating!”
